For over 40 years, we have assisted our clients in a variety of projects including water and wastewater treatment plants, storm drainage, transportation, planning, construction management, and surveying. We have 9 locations across Texas: Houston, Plano, Forth Worth, Austin, The Woodlands, Rosenberg, College Station, Katy, and San Antonio. We currently employ over 450 experienced design professionals and support staff with plans for continued expansion and growth in our future.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepares a range of engineering documents including standard design plans, technical proposals, engineering studies, analyses, reports and work specifications.
    • Performs the design tasks for water and wastewater systems, street lighting, generators, and buildings. These may include:
      • Cost estimating and cost controls
      • Contract development and oversight
      • Program/project planning development and management methodologies
      • Performing or coordinating plans, specifications and estimates preparation, review, processing and compliance requirements
      • Evaluating and making recommendations for developing, monitoring, and updating integrated project construction phasing plans and schedules so that projects may be executed in the most efficient and effective manner possible.
    • Reviews construction documents, specifications and construction estimates and may prepare construction schedules.
    • Leads the technical design review and analysis of project deliverables: Reviews specifications for accuracy and feasibility and may refer more complex technical issues to senior engineers for resolution. (All Practices)
    • Directs the preparation of contract documents, manages bidding, and reviews contracts on engineering and/or construction contracts.
    • Implements and delivers engineering tasks for project plans: monitors and administers schedules, budgets, costs, and resources required to complete assigned engineering project deliverables to quality and project parameters. Identifies, resolves or escalates operational problems to minimize delays. Maintains records and reviews expenditures in order to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
    • May coordinate activities of outside sub-consultants to ensure integration with project deliverables and quality requirements.
    • Provides client support: This is usually internally focused. Builds relationships and knowledge of their operating environments. Communicates regularly with internal stakeholders on progress and changes and may present to external clients and/or provide technical support during the execution of projects and proposals.
    • Builds and maintains relationships within and between project teams: works collaboratively to ensure that technical, quality, cost and client requirements are implemented.
    • May mentor and lead the work of a small team of engineers and design professionals and engage in activities to build team strength. These include input to recruiting, selection and performance management processes.
    • May assist internal departments with business development activities.
    • May act as a technical advisor for other staff members.

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering.
    • EIT / PE depending on level.
    • This position demands an individual with a strong detail-oriented work style, excellent oral and written communication skills, and an accommodating and proactive attitude.
    • Candidates must be comfortable meeting with clients.
    • Must be capable working in both independent and team environments.
    • Experience with AutoCAD software is a plus.
    • Self-motivated and high level of energy.
