    Jones|Carter is an award-winning, full-service civil engineering, planning, surveying, and professional consulting firm assisting public and private sector clients in design, development, implementation, and execution of infrastructure projects. For over 40 years, we have assisted our clients in a variety of projects including water and wastewater treatment plants, storm drainage, transportation, planning, construction management, and surveying. We have 9 locations across Texas: Houston, Plano, Forth Worth, Austin, The Woodlands, Rosenberg, College Station, Katy, and San Antonio. We currently employ over 450 experienced design professionals and support staff with plans for continued expansion and growth in our future.

     

    REQUIRED LICENSE:

    Registered Professional Engineer License or obtaining Professional Engineer License within 2 years

    Responsibilities

    • Performs engineering and project management functions for site development projects dealing with commercial, industrial, multi-family and office developments.
    • Manages project budgets, invoicing, etc.
    • Provides technical design of civil engineering projects from planning through completion.
    • Designs and oversees various sized privately funded endeavors including zoning, subdivision, utilities, site layout, grading and storm water detention design.
    • Estimates work load to establish completion dates.
    • Complete various civil site and municipal engineering, research, report preparation and technical specifications.
    • Establish and maintain client relations through regular and constructive communication with clientele and project team members.
    • Train and mentor EITs (0-2 years experience).

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
    • Professional Engineers License in Texas.
    • Minmimum 3 years of experience as a civil engineer with a focus on site development projects
    • Technical and project management experience in civil and land development engineering design
    • Experience in technical writing of deliverables including work plans, quality program documents, summary reports and project correspondence as required
    • Must exhibit strong project management and leadership skills and be expected to maintain client relationships and continued development of project work
    • Experience with AutoCAD software and proficient with MS Office
    • Ability to identify work priorities and function with very little supervision
    • Capable of independent and team work environments
    • Demonstrate proven oral and written communication skills
    • Must possess a strong detail-oriented work style and an accommodating and proactive attitude
